Happy Monday everyone!
I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, and maybe you were able to get some self-care in. Or maybe this will inspire you to partake in some self care. Because, while at times it may seem frivolous or silly, self care is an important aspect of life. It is something that doesn’t need to be done every day or all the time. But it should be something that you do because it gives you joy, it makes you feel good, and gives you some time to decompress. One of the new ways I treat myself is with a facial. This has been amazing, not only for my skin but for my mental health as well.
Why a Facial
I have had a facial before but it was around 10 years ago. They were nice but I was always looking for something specific, but wasn’t sure what. Then, earlier this year I started following a local woman who talked about doing facials and had just moved into a new space. Her facials looked amazing and something I wanted to try but didn’t have the time. I was finally able to make an appointment for July of this year. And this appointment was amazing! So let’s get into it.
Services Offered
Brea of Emberlight Esthetics offers five types of facials:
Maintenance Facial $150 60 minutes
Buccal Massage and Facial $200 60 minutes
Exterior Facial Massage and Facial $250 90 minutes
Buccal Massage and Facial $300 90 minutes
Buccal, Gua Sha, and Facial $400 120 minutes
If you would like more details about the service check them out here.
I get the exterior facial massage and facial, and let me tell you what I love about it.
What I Love
There is so much to love about Brea and her facials. First, she has created a calm and inviting space. It is calming colors with a lot of plants and a small fountain. And that is just the entrance. In the room it has mood lighting, comfy tables, a bolster to raise your legs a bit, and calming spa music. Every aspect from the moment you walk in invites you to relax and enjoy just being.
The service she provides makes for an amazing time. Before your service starts (specifically your first time), you fill out some paperwork and she gets to know you and what you are looking for. Once you are ready, you go into the room and she takes you through a few stretches to help loosen you up a bit. Then you get settled. The facial massage and facial includes lymphatic encouragement, which helps to clear out your lymphatic system. It is a great drainage. Her facial massage is amazing! She does the perfect pressure and includes gua sha. If you don’t know what this is, it is a scraping technique used with a stone (usually jade) tool that is shaped roughly like a heart. This feels good and I believe helps the skin. She also does a bit of a neck and shoulder massage with it. When you are feeling stressed, this truly is a great way to relax. The facial also includes a double cleanse, and products like toner, serums, eye cream, lip mask, moisturizer, and SPF.
Final Thoughts
The whole experience is 90 minutes and it is worth it. It makes me feel amazing, look amazing, and helps me to relax and unwind. Also, Brea is such a joy. She is so nice, welcoming, and does amazing work. She created a space that anyone who walks in will know how much she cares and loves what she does. I am lucky to have someone like this who offers this phenomenal service. I highly recommend finding someone near you who offers something like this and trying it out.
Well, I hope everyone has a lovely week and you get some self care in. Until next time.
💙 Jacquelyn
